Dalhousie is a spectacular little hill station surrounded by five Himalayan hills that dominate tall and handsome Deodar and Oak trees. The forest trails nearby overlook vistas of wooded hills, waterfalls, springs and rivulets. The magnificent view of Chamba Valley and the inspiring snow-clad peaks of Dhauladhar range fill the entire horizon. Wildlife lovers stand a great chance of spotting mammals like the Asiatic Black Bear, Yellow Throated Marten, Himalayan Palm Civet, Red fox and a wide variety of Birds.

Programme Details

Please Carry: Six pairs of comfortable clothes, night dress, sweater, jacket, raincoat, bath towel, sports shoes, socks, sandals/floaters, woolen cap, woolen socks, gloves, air-pillow, water bottle, torch, daypack, folding umbrella, water-proof shoe bag and toiletries (soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, sunscreen, cold cream, lip balm etc.). Also carry an original photo ID proof. The participants may have to pay fine, wherever applicable in the absence of original photo ID.


All the Items: mentioned should preferably be packed in a rucksack that is easier to carry. Please do not bring any disposable items, ornaments and other valuables. Binoculars and camera are optional.


Cell Phones: are allowed but not during camp activities.

• Please note that this is a tentative schedule and may change as per the operational feasibility.

• Final travel schedule will be ready 2 days before the departure.

• In case if any Camp activity is cancelled due to weather condition or any other unforeseen reason/s, no refund will be given for that.

Itinerary

1

Day 1

Depart from Gandhinagar for Pathankot in the morning by train in a 3 AC Regular Coach.

2

Day 2

Arrive Pathankot at 15:00 and depart for Dalhousie by luxury vehicle/s. Arrive Dalhousie Campsite at around 21:00. Tent allotment & dinner.

Day 3

Orientation meeting at 07:00 in the morning. This first gathering is very important as it would help the campers to understand the objectives & activities of the camp. Briefing on Mountain walking after breakfast and introduction to the flora of the surroundings through a Nature walk in the forest. The group will be back at the campsite for lunch. Introduction to Jumaring at 15:30.

Day 4

Introduction to Zip line in the morning. A session on Birds after Zip line. Rappelling at 16:00.

Day 5

Half-day trek to a hilltop, which is the highest point around Dalhousie. The group will return at the camp site for lunch. Group games at 15:30 to enhance teamwork and interaction. Briefing about Khajjiar at 18:00. Night Trek & Night Under the Stars at 20:30.

Day 6

Trek to Khajjiar in the morning, offering stunning landscapes and exploration opportunities. Back to the campsite by 13:00. Treasure hunt at 17:00.

Day 7

Concluding session and photo session in the morning. Visit to Dalhousie town for shopping or window shopping after early lunch

Day 8

Depart early in the morning for Pathankot. Arrive Pathankot and depart for Gandhinagar by 3 Ac Regular Coach

Day 9

Arrive Gandhinagar railway station at 15:00.

Reporting
Please mark your attendance with the Group Leader as per mentioned time and date given in the Receipt, Please do not board the Bus without Reporting.
Camp Site
Campers will stay in Tents. There will be separate accommodation for Girls and Boys. A campsite is near Talala, away from the maddening crowd.
Food
Wholesome & Hygienic vegetarian Food will be served, including Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Special Jain / Swaminarayan food is also served at the campsite if mentioned in the application form.
Toilet & Bathing Facilities
There will Western and Indian Toilets separate for Boys and Girls. Hot Water will be available for bathing in the afternoon. Please Help to Maintain Proper Hygiene.
Weather
Usually, the mornings, evenings and nights are cold and the afternoons are moderate. It is advisable to carry enough woolens.
Safety & Discipline
The campers will be escorted by trained group leaders from Ahmedabad to the campsite & back. There will be at least one female group leader in each batch. Apart from these group leaders, there will be enough people to look after them at the campsite. All the activities are done under the supervision of professional instructors and with all safety measures. A campsite is a safe place & we have an excellent rapport with the local people. We are very strict with ourselves and campers. For safety reasons, the campers are not allowed to go out of the campsite without escorts.
Communication
Cell Phones are allowed during traveling and only inside the tent at the Campsite. Parents will be updated about the whereabouts of the campers via SMS every day. Same updates can also be checked on our website, in case you may not receive SMS due to any technical problem. Our Camp Incharge will be constantly in touch with SUN ADVENTURES office, so in case of any inquiry, you may contact our office on +91 278 2562295 (05:30 pm to 08:30 pm.).
Emergency
In case of an emergency, Parents may contact us on 09427448668 First – Aid kit will be available with the group leader throughout the programme. Please do not give any extra medicines to the campers, unless, s/he is undergoing any specific treatment. There is a doctor on call facility available for any medical emergency.

Things To be carried
A list of things to be carried is given in the brochure. Bring all the things accordingly. Day-Pack, Water Bottle, Sports Shoes with proper grip and Warm Clothes are essential. Sleeping material will be provided at the campsite. Campers will carry their own luggage in an easy to carry Rucksack. Please Tag all the belongings of the campers
How Much Money
As such our charges include everything; still they may require some extra money for Shopping / Refreshments. Give only as much as they can handle.
Please Note
Though proper care of the entire luggage is taken, we will not be responsible for any lost or damaged items. We have a system of “Lost & Found” at the campsite. If you have not filled up the application form, do it at the earliest. The participant will not be allowed to indulge in any activity if the application form is not submitted. The form contains space for special remarks from your side like sleep walking, allergy etc. If you have not mentioned, please fill it up at least 7 days before the departure.

Terms & Conditions

  • The balance payment is to be paid at least 25 days before the departure of the batch. If the balance payment is not made on time, it would automatically be considered cancelled without any prior intimation and no refund would be given in this regards.
  • Camp may be cancelled if there is not enough strength, actual amount paid by the participant towards the camp will be refunded. No other claims will be entertained.
  • No refund shall be given if the participant terminates the camp at any point due to any reason.
  • SUN ADVENTURES & OUTDOORS reserves the unconditional right to refuse a booking/terminate a participant on camp in event of unreasonable behavior at any time and no refund will be given in this regard.
  • The amount paid once is not transferable to any other programme or to any other person.
  • Jain food may be served on specific request, subject to availability.
  • In case the camp duration is extended due to unforeseen circumstances, each participant will have to pay Rs.400/- per head, per day to the group leader.
  • It shall be the participant’s responsibility to collect the necessary travel documents from our office on time.
  • The organisers or any individual connected with the camp shall not be held responsible in case of any accident or any unforeseen natural calamity.
  • In any case of injury or severe illness where upon the participant has to admit to the hospital or sent back by flight or any other means of transport, then those charges shall be entirely borne by the parents and the expense has to be deposited at the office immediately.
  • Organisers will not be responsible towards any internal disputes arising with fellow participants.
  • We are not bound to provide name, address or any other personal details of other participants.
  • The organisers shall not be held responsible for loss/theft of the participant’s luggage and belongings.
  • SUN ADVENTURES & OUTDOORS reserves the right to use the participant’s name, information and photographs in promotional materials, brochures and press releases.
